Hi! I’m Aadya Shakti, a student at Calcutta International School, Kolkata, and I’m so
happy you’re here.
I’m passionate about the community around me, finding meaning in
projects that create awareness and spark conversation. From women’s issues to art
and even research, I love exploring how creativity and knowledge can bring people
together and inspire change.
This space is a small reflection of that! Of everything I’m learning,
unlearning, and discovering along the way. Each step teaches me something new about
empathy, resilience, and the power of using one’s voice with purpose.
I’m still growing, and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads. I’m
really excited about what’s ahead, and I’d love for you to join me.
As founder of The Third Eye, I conducted 15+ workshops across West Bengal, connecting with over 400 women and their families to spread awareness on menopause and its broader social and health implications. Through this experience, I developed leadership, public speaking, and community engagement skills, while learning the importance of empathy, advocacy, and creating inclusive spaces for open conversations.
Through the Samta Program, I conducted weekly mentoring sessions with a student at an NGO called Gyaandeepak, exploring topics of his interest like general knowledge and astrophysics. I also led a presentation on UN SDG 14 to promote ocean sustainability. This experience helped me develop mentorship, communication, and presentation skills, while learning the importance of patience, adaptability, and fostering curiosity in others.
At CIS, I progressed from a curious middle school member (Grades 6–8) to Secretary of the Math Club in Grades 9 and 10, and eventually President in Grades 11 and 12, leading a 30+ member team. I founded a Tutoring Program that made math approachable and reduced hesitation in asking questions. Through this, I developed program management, peer mentorship, problem-solving, and adaptive teaching skills, while learning how to foster engagement, encourage curiosity, and create a supportive learning environment.
As the Head of Alumni Relations in the Core Council of CIS, I led an outreach program to reconnect with past students, onboarded 10+ alumni, and organized Alumni Day to strengthen school spirit and sustain long-term relationships. This experience helped me develop leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, while teaching me the importance of networking, empathy, and fostering lasting community connections.
During my internship at Surya Roshni Ltd., I supported a critical capacity expansion project by researching the HFFR cable market, coordinating with vendors, and managing internal reports for Phase 1. This experience helped me develop analytical thinking, effective communication, and project management skills, while learning the importance of organization, attention to detail, and collaboration in executing large-scale industrial projects.
At UV Capital, I created investor pitch materials targeting leads identified via Crunchbase and built a structured LP database detailing sector, fund size, and past investments. Through this, I developed attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication, learning the importance of precision and strategy in investor relations.
At SMC Power Generation Ltd., I assisted in handling financial data, participated in project feasibility and tender meetings, and supported accounting documentation and record maintenance. Through this experience, I developed attention to detail, organizational skills, and an understanding of financial and project management processes, learning the importance of accuracy, accountability, and teamwork in a corporate setting.
I participated in a student exchange program at Alfrink College, Netherlands, where I collaborated on a human rights project. It was my first experience travelling alone and learning true independence—managing myself, my time, and my decisions in a new environment. Working with peers from diverse backgrounds taught me cross-cultural communication, teamwork, and global awareness, while also reminding me of the importance of sanskaar, respect, and embracing diversity. This experience deepened my understanding of empathy, inclusivity, and the power of collective action in addressing social issues.
I have consistently been selected for the Math-Science-ICT Quiz every year since 5th grade, achieving 1st or 2nd place throughout. In grades 9 and 10, we placed 2nd. Participating in these competitions taught me discipline, teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience, while fostering critical thinking, time management, and the joy of collaborative learning.
I have been passionate about art since the age of three, exploring creativity in various forms. I participated in a T-shirt painting competition at St. Augustine’s School in 9th grade and a table painting competition in 11th grade at Our Lady Queen of the Missions School, Kolata, placing 2nd in both. Through these experiences, I developed patience, attention to detail, perseverance, and self-expression, while learning to embrace creativity, adapt ideas, and take pride in the process as much as the outcome.
I have been passionate about dance since the age of three, consistently honing my skills over the years. I achieved 1st division in both my 1st- and 4th-year examinations (my first year exam being at Pracheen Kalakendra and the 4th year exam being at Darpan Academy). These acheivements reflect my dedication and growth. Through dance, I developed discipline, perseverance, confidence, and teamwork, while learning the importance of creativity, self-expression, and pushing personal limits.
I have been passionate about drawing since the age of three, developing skills in oil painting, pastels, sketching, and traditional Indian materials. My work has been showcased at exhibitions, allowing me to refine my technique, observation, and creative expression. Through art, I have learned patience, attention to detail, perseverance, and self-discipline, while embracing creativity, adaptability, and the joy of conveying ideas visually.
I have trained in the Indian classical dance forms of Kathak and Bharatanatyam for over 14 years. I’ve completed exams up to the fourth year, earning distinction each time, and have participated in numerous local competitions and cultural functions. Like art, dance has shaped many facets of my personality, strengthening my time management, body language, and patience.
I began learning crocheting after my 10th grade IGCSE exams as a way to pick up a productive skill. Over time, it became a creative outlet where I could express ideas and experiment with designs. The process was deeply therapeutic for me, and the resilience and problem-solving skills I developed through it also strengthened my bond with my little sister. Crocheting taught me to persevere through challenges and find joy in creating something with my own hands.
